Connecting with Congress at the ABA Summit
Thank you to our members who joined us for the ABA Washington Summit in D.C. earlier this month. Joined by NJBankers President & CEO Mike Affuso and VP/Director of Government Affairs Brittany Wheeler, our members attended congressional meetings to highlight the great work of the banking industry in New Jersey and the economic impact banks have in our state.
Participants met with New Jersey members of Congress including Jeff Van Drew, Chris Smith, Tom Kean, LaMonica McIver and Mikie Sherrill. These were productive meetings where they were able to address the challenges and opportunities shaping our industry.
Up next on the advocacy front is NJBankers Regulatory Visit to D.C. from May 12-13. During the visit, we will meet with the OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve Board and other regulatory agencies. Learn more and register online here to make your voice heard.

April 21: DYK that each year, local bank employees donate thousands of volunteer hours to a multitude of causes across the state? New Jersey banks are committed to social responsibility and this #NationalVolunteerWeek, we're highlighting a few of our members making an impact in our communities.
Bank of America and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) have maintained a longstanding partnership to combat food insecurity in the state.
For decades, the bank has supported CFBNJ, including through regular employee volunteerism. At their most recent volunteer shift, team members logged 30 hours and supported over 1,280 meals.
"When our volunteers come together at CFBNJ, it's not just about packing food and preparing meals; it's about strengthening our communities, restoring dignity, and standing together to ensure that no one faces hunger alone," said Alberto Garofalo, president, Bank of America New Jersey.
