Lalwani Receives NJBankers Woman of Impact Award

Our Women in Banking Conference featured the presentation of NJBankers inaugural Woman of Impact Award, which was given to one woman for her commitment and leadership for the advancement of women in the banking industry. The award was presented to Ellen Lalwani, EVP and Chief Banking Officer at Lakeland Bank. Ellen was recognized as a result of her mentoring countless female banking professionals and participation in formal mentorships through the Lakeland Bank Leader Engagement and Development (L.E.A.D.) Program as well as the Stonier Graduate School of Banking program.

Federal Reserve Bank of New York Business Leaders Survey

Growth stalled in the region’s service sector, according to firms responding to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s June 2022 Business Leaders Survey. The survey’s headline business activity index fell nine points to 2.2. The business climate index also fell, moving down nine points to -36.2, indicating that firms generally viewed the business climate as worse than normal for this time of year.
