Thank You For Attending the 14th Annual Economic Leadership Forum
On March 6, NJBankers hosted our Economic Leadership Forum at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Berkeley Heights. Attendees gained insights into the economy, fiscal policy, the current administration, and more. Thank you to everyone who came out to the event, and a special thank you to our event sponsors who made the day possible.
The event kicked off with a banking outlook from ABA President & CEO Rob Nichols. Highlights included a presentation by Maya MacGuineas (above), President of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, who told attendees how the national debt is headed to unprecedented levels and measures that must be taken to reverse course.
Attendees also heard from Tim Sullivan (below), CEO of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, who discussed a variety of innovative initiatives shaping the state’s economic future including AI, film, arts and culture, energy efficiency, and more. Presentations were also made by NJBankers Associate Members Stifel Financial Corp. and Arnold & Porter.
On February 27, NJBankers hosted Trenton Day at the New Jersey State House. While there, NJBankers President & CEO Mike Affuso and VP/Director of Government Affairs Brittany Wheeler were joined by our members in meetings with Assemblyman Avi Schnall, Assemblywoman Luanne Peterpaul, AFICommittee Chair Assemblyman Roy Freiman, Assemblyman Al Barlas, and Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips (shown here).
During the meetings, they advocated on behalf of the banking industry and discussed the opportunities and challenges facing our industry and state, including ways to enhance economic growth, the importance of constituent services, the diversity of New Jersey's communities, and much more. It was a great experience, one we look forward to repeating in the future.
